Read the Usage dashboard
Who can view the usage figures and how to set their period, comparison, module and scope.
In short
Usage is the dashboard about how the product is used: usage figures first, then growth widgets. Organization admins and managers see their organization; site admins see the whole platform or one organization or person; in your personal workspace you see your own activity.
Before you start
- Who: "See analytics" in an organization (an Organization Admin or Manager holds it by default). In your Personal Workspace you see your own activity. A site admin sees the whole platform, or one organization or person, with "Scope".
- Plan: Analytics is part of every plan, Free included.
- First: the first time, a "Sample data" view opens. Press "Use my data" to see your own figures.
Set the period, comparison and module
- Open Analytics. The first time, a "Sample data" view opens: press "Use my data" to see your own figures. Then open the dashboard switcher in the title ("Switch dashboard") and choose "Usage".
- Choose the "Period": the last 7, 30 or 90 days, the last 12 months or a "Custom range".
- Leave "Compare with the previous period" on, or turn it off.
- Choose a module to count only the days people used it.
Scope: platform, organization or person
- As a site admin, press "Scope" beside the period.
- Pick an organization or a person: search and choose. The title row names it.
- Press the chip's clear button to go back to the whole platform.
Good to know
- Anyone holding See analytics in an organization sees it: the Admin and Manager roles by default, or a role an administrator gives it in Access › Roles.
- Every figure is read from what the modules already record, so a figure here and the same figure in a report agree.
- The period and comparison are kept in the address. Titles that say "in window" count only the period; plain totals ignore it.
- Choosing a person shows growth figures but no usage analytics, which describe groups of people.
- A site admin can also reach it from the admin console: "Platform dashboard" opens Usage.
If something goes wrong
- "This organization's analytics are for its admins": you do not hold See analytics there. Ask an organization admin, or switch to your Personal Workspace.
