Read a report
What the headline tiles, colors, charts and tables mean.
In short
A report opens with its title, the period and what it is compared with, then a Headline of tiles. Colors say whether a change is good news, not which way it went. Charts and tables below hold the detail.
Before you start
- Who: anyone who can run the report. A report or figure shows only what you could open yourself. A site administrator's role adds nothing inside an organization.
- Plan: Analytics is part of every plan, Free included.
- First: run or open a report (see /help/analytics/running-a-report).
Steps
- Read the line under the title: when it was generated, the period, and "Compared with the run from" a date - or the note First run - nothing to compare with yet.
- Read the Headline tiles. With a comparison, each shows the earlier value after the word was, plus the change.
- Read the colors: green is good news, red is bad news, gray is neutral.
- Hover a chart for a value. Click a row that names a request, card, role or track to open it.
Good to know
- Failing going up is red; Pass rate going up is green; Average duration going down is green because faster is better; a plain count such as Saved requests stays gray. A change of zero shows as ±0.
- Before you save, what you see is the report worked out now; a line under the toolbar says so. "Save report" keeps this copy, and the next run is compared with it.
- Long tables scroll inside the page. A row you cannot open is plain text.
- Some reports add a second row of figures for one area.
- Open Ask AI to discuss every number on screen, whether or not you kept the run. It can also answer from your recent saved reports in this workspace.
Example API project health for the Payments API over 30 days reads Failing 5 and Pass rate 86.8%. The pass rate tells you the state; the Failing right now table names the five requests to open next.
If something goes wrong
- Zeros: the period is too short for anything to have happened, or the target is empty. Widen the period.
- A number differs from the module's own screen: reports count with your access and the period you chose. Compare the period first, then the target.
- Every run says First run: see Compare a report with last time.
