Comment on a request, a suite, a run or a change
Leave a note for the next person on a saved request, a suite, one run or an API change, and tell the people who should see it.
In short
Comments on a saved request, a suite, one run of either, or an API change hold what the next person should know - why a run failed, what a change means for you. Mention people and they get a notification that opens what you commented on.
Before you start
- Who: anyone with Comment access or higher on the project can read and add comments.
- Plan: every plan.
- First: nothing to set up.
Steps
- Open a saved request and its "Notes" tab, a suite, a run's page, a suite run's result or an API change, and find "Comments".
- Write what the next person should know.
- Under "Tell someone", choose the people to mention, then press "Comment".
Result: the comment shows for everyone who can see the project, and the people you mentioned are notified.
Good to know
- Everyone who can see the project can read and add comments (the Comment level or higher).
- You can mention only people who can see the project.
- Only you can change your own comment. You, or someone who can edit the project, can delete it; a deleted comment is gone for good.
If something goes wrong
- A person is missing from "Tell someone": they cannot see the project. Share it with them first.
