Spot stuck and at-risk cards
See how old the work in progress is compared with finished cards, and which cards need attention now.
In short
Aging shows how long the cards in progress have been worked on, compared with how long finished cards took. At risk lists the unfinished cards that need attention now - overdue, failing, blocked or slow - most pressing first, with every reason.
Before you start
- Who: anyone who can open the board.
- Plan: every plan, with nothing to set up.
- First: the board needs at least five finished cards to compare with.
Steps
- Open the board, choose "Insights" in its … menu and open the "Pulse" tab.
- Read Aging: how many cards are in each work column and how old the oldest is.
- Read At risk and open the cards listed first.
Result: you know where work is waiting and which cards to look at today.

Good to know
- Until five cards have finished there is nothing to compare with, so the aging bands are not shown.
- Cards waiting before the work starts are not counted in aging.
- Overdue and Blocked can be shown as a list of their own.
- The pulse covers the last 12 weeks and only the cards your filters leave, while the board report counts every card.
- Aging and at risk are lists to read. To be told when a card gets slow, add a board rule that fires when "It is in work past the usual time" (see /help/boards/board-rules).
If something goes wrong
- No bands show: fewer than five cards have finished.
- A card you expect is missing: it is waiting before the column where work starts, or your filters leave it out.
