Find your way around board settings
The four groups of a board's settings and the row you want in each.
In short
A board's settings are one page in four groups: Columns and cards, Automation, Connections, and People and details. Each row keeps a line that says what it holds, and the connections open as sheets so you stay on the page.
Before you start
- Who: only people who manage the board see the buttons. Anyone who can open the board can read the page.
- Plan: every plan. Two-way sync with Jira or Azure Boards needs a paid plan (see /help/boards/jira-and-azure-boards-sync).
- First: open the board's … menu and choose "Board settings".
Steps
- Open the board's … menu and choose "Board settings".
- Pick a group in the list at the left, or in the row of chips on a narrow screen.
- Open the row you want and change it. Only people who manage the board see the buttons.
Result: the page opens on the row you chose, and old links to a row still land on it.
What is in each group
Good to know
- A connection's full panel opens in a sheet from its row. A link with ?settings=webhooks, repositories, imports or forms opens the same sheet.
- "Automations" in the … menu is a shortcut to the Automation row.
- "Sizing" holds the estimate scale, the health thresholds and the latest estimation sessions.
- On a narrow screen the groups become a row of chips at the top of the page.
If something goes wrong
- The page has no buttons: you can read the board but not manage it. Ask someone who manages it.
- A row you remember is under another name: "Where do cards come from?" is now "Connections", and "Sources" is its "Other products", "Forms" and "Imports" rows.
