Develop a feature: branch, agents and instructions

Push code to a branch named with the card key, give tasks to a coding agent, and leave notes for whoever builds.

In short

In Develop, code goes to a branch named with the card key. {{brand}} reads the branch, links it to the card and compares it with the design. A task is built by an AI agent or by a person in their own editor. Notes on the Instructions tab reach the agent with its work.

Before you start

Use the right branch

  1. Open the Feature card and its "Code & checks" tab.
  2. Copy the "Start the branch" command. It looks like git checkout -b feature/KEY-12-pay-by-card.
  3. Run it in your repository, write the code and push the branch. Then look at the "Code & checks" tab again.

Result: "Synced: the code was read and compared with the design" appears. "Compared with the design" lists what "Matches", what is "Missing" and what is "Different".

Give a task to the AI agent

  1. Open the task card the plan made. The plan on "Design & plan" links to each one.
  2. Open the … menu in its header and choose "Give to a coding agent".
  3. Type "Your password" and press "Give to agent". The coding agent guide has the rest.

Result: the agent gets the task, the design and your notes through a credential for that card only. A person still merges.

Leave instructions

  1. Press "More" on the card's tabs and choose "Instructions".
  2. Under "For the stage", choose Design, Plan, Develop or Test.
  3. Write one instruction in "Note" and press "Add the note".

Result: the agent reads the note on its next read. The design change brief carries it too.
