Make sure the preview runs the newest commit
Tell API Tester where your preview says its commit, so an agent's round runs only on the code it is about, and let the agent check its preview first.
In short
A round judges the pull request's newest commit. When the preview still runs an older one, the round is "Did not run" and costs no try. Give the environment a version path, where your preview answers with the commit it was deployed from. A coding agent can then check its preview before it asks for a round.
Steps
- Open the API Tester environment and find "Pull-request previews".
- Check the "Preview address", such as https://preview.example.com/pr-{number}.
- Fill "Version path" with the path that answers the deployed commit, such as /version, and press "Save preview settings".
Good to know
- The answer only needs to hold the commit id, full or short, in a JSON field or a line of text. Nothing else of it is kept.
- The agent's preview check says whether the preview was announced, answers and serves the newest commit. It starts no round and costs no try.
- A preview that does not answer at all makes the round "Did not run" too, with no try used.
