Refactor and spike cards
Say what a card asks - build, fix, refactor or find an answer - and give a refactor or a spike its own facts.
In short
Each card type has an intent, set in board settings; a card's brief can say otherwise. A refactor keeps behaviour and needs a "Must keep working" line. A spike finds an answer: it needs its question and a time-box, and a person accepts its findings instead of tests.
Steps
- In board settings, open "Card types" and pick "What the card asks" for each type.
- On a card, open "For whoever builds it" and press "Edit the card brief".
- For a refactor, fill the "Refactor" part and "Must keep working".
- For a spike, fill "The question" and "Time-box in hours", then press "Save".
- When the spike's agent reports, read "The spike's answer" on the card and press "Accept" or "Send back".
Good to know
- Accepting a spike's answer moves the card to done and ends the agent's credential.
- Sending it back keeps the credential and shows your note to the agent.
