Share progress with your client
Invite your client to one simple page: what is under way, what is done and what waits on them. You decide what they see.
In short
Your client gets a page of their own for one board. It shows what the team works on now, what was done this week and what comes next, in plain words.
Your client can approve, comment, follow a card, ask for something new and set their top priorities. They never see code, keys, logs or anything you mark Internal.
Before you start
- Who: someone who manages the board.
- Plan: a client takes one of your plan's guest places, never a paid seat.
- First: the board belongs to an organization, and your client has a {{brand}} account with the address you invite.
Invite your client
- Open the board, then "Board settings" and "People".
- Under "Guests", type your client's "Email address".
- In "What they may do", choose "Client: follows a simple page" and press "Invite".
Your client gets an email with a link. Once they accept, the link opens their page. Later they find it on Boards under "You are the client of".
What your client sees
- "Now", "Done this week" and "Next": card titles, dates, progress, screenshots and preview links.
- "Waiting on you": the cards you asked them to approve. They press "Approve" or "Change this".
- "Ask for something": they say what they want in their own words. AI turns it into a card with "It is done when" lines, and asks back when it needs more.
- "Your top priorities": up to five waiting cards, in the order they want them. Nothing moves on your board.
- "Live status", "Updates from the team" and "Decisions".
- Never: your team's comments, checklists, people, code, keys, logs or Internal cards. A short summary of a description leaves out code and anything that looks like a key.
Decide what they see
- In "Board settings", open "People" and find "Client page".
- Under "What the page shows", switch off any part you want to keep to yourself.
- To keep one card away, open it and choose "Internal" in its menu. It then shows "Kept from the client".
- Press "See as client" to see the page exactly as your client does. Nothing you do there is saved.
Switch on "Let the client see the board, read only" to also show the columns and the feature journeys. When some of the cards they see are tied to each other - a part of a bigger card, a card that holds another up, related or the same - the board also offers "Map": those cards around one in the middle. A tie to a card kept from the client is never shown.
Keep your client in the loop
- To ask for a decision, open the card, press "Ask for approval" and pick your client.
- A comment reaches your client only when you tick "Reply to the client". Their messages carry the "Client thread" badge.
- Weekly update: press "Start from this week" to fill it from what happened, edit it, then press "Send to the client". A sent update cannot be taken back.
- Decision log: press "Record a decision" to write down what you agreed. Your client's own approvals appear there too.
Let AI do it
Ask AI to invite the client, mark a card internal, record a decision or send the weekly update. It shows each step first, and asks again before it sends anything.
