Read and download the board report
Read a board's totals, download them as Word or Excel, and run Boards reports in Analytics.
In short
The board report counts a board's cards: total, done, overdue, by column, by priority and by assignee. Download it as Excel, PDF or Word. Analytics adds three Boards reports for longer periods.
Before you start
- Who: anyone who can open the board reads and downloads the board report. The Analytics reports need "See analytics" in an organization.
- Plan: every plan.
- First: nothing to set up.
Steps
- Open the board's … menu, choose "Insights" and open the "Report" tab.
- Read the numbers.
- Press "Download" and choose "Excel (.xlsx)" for every card as one row, "PDF (.pdf)" for the numbers on paper, or, under "Other formats", "Word (.docx)" for the numbers with charts.
Result: a file with the board's numbers, from the same data as the panel.
Good to know
- Anyone who can open the board can read the report.
- The board's … menu also has "Download": Excel or PDF of the cards on screen, with the filters you set.
- The Excel export has status, title, priority, owner, due date, tags, checklist, estimate and your own fields.
- Analytics, Reports lists three Boards reports. Board status covers one board over a period. Project delivery covers one tracked project's bugs and stories. Flow and workload covers finished per week, how long they took, how old work in progress is, and each person's load. Only boards and projects you can open are offered.
- Open the assistant from a board or a card and it already knows the board's totals or the card's details. It never sees a board or card you could not open yourself.
- What happens next: "Download" makes a file on your device and sends nothing to anyone. To mail a report on a schedule, use Analytics (see /help/analytics/schedules-and-exports).
If something goes wrong
- Done reads 0 although cards are in the last column: that column is not marked "Finished here". See /help/boards/columns-and-workflows.
- Numbers differ from the pulse: the report counts every card; the pulse covers 12 weeks and follows your filters.
