This week on a board
See what moved, what was finished, what became blocked and what is at risk on a board over the last seven days, and have AI write it up for the team.
In short
"This week" gives four short lists for a board's last seven days - moved, finished, newly blocked or failing, and at risk now - with a few numbers above them. There is nothing to set up. Where AI is available, it can write the week up in a short paragraph.
Before you start
- Who: anyone who can open the board. "Summarize this week" also needs AI to be available to you and allowed by your organization.
- Plan: every plan. The summary takes one AI answer (see /help/ai/answers-left).
- First: nothing to set up.
Steps
- Open a board, open its ... menu, choose "Insights" and stay on "This week", its first tab.
- Read the numbers, then the four lists. Choose a card's title to open it.
- Optionally press "Summarize this week" to have AI write a short paragraph and up to three things worth a look.
Result: a picture of the board's week you can bring to a stand-up.
The numbers above the lists
- Cards finished this week, beside how many the board usually finishes in a week (the average of the eleven weeks before).
- Cards started this week and cards in progress now.
- One line about the flow of work this week, for example that work in progress is piling up or that the board is steady.
- Any column that holds more cards than its limit.
Good to know
- The summary takes one of your AI answers. The same text is shown again for a few hours while the cards and the facts stay the same.
- The summary is about cards and the board, never about people. It does not name, rate, rank or compare anyone, and it does not assign work or set priorities.
- Without AI the lists and the numbers are complete on their own.
- Each list shows its first cards and says how many more there are.
- This week covers the whole board in the columns it is laid out by, whatever the filter row shows.
Only what you can see
The week is built from the cards you can read, and so is the written summary. A card you cannot open adds nothing: no line, no title, no count. A card that blocks one of yours is named only when it is on a board you can open. Two people share a written summary only when they can read exactly the same cards.
If something goes wrong
- "Summarize this week" is missing: AI is not available to you, your organization switched AI off, or keeps Boards from AI - a line under the dates says so.
- Numbers differ from the pulse: This week ignores your filters; the pulse follows them.
