Build a whole feature with coding agents
Give a workflow's cards to your own coding agents in building order; each card opens when the steps before it are merged and verified.
In short
"Build with coding agents" hands a workflow's task cards to your own coding agent one by one, in building order. Independent steps run side by side. For each pull request, {{brand}} judges the result with tests the agent cannot change. A card opens only once the cards it waits for are merged and verified.
Before you start
- Make the plan with cards and tests. See /help/designer/create-the-plan.
- Every card needs tests to judge its work, and those tests need a preview address. See /help/boards/coding-agent-on-a-card.
- Who: starting the build needs your password and the rights you need to give each card to an agent (see /help/boards/coding-agent-on-a-card). Only the person who started it can renew a credential.
- Plan: Designer and Boards must both be on your plan. How many cards may have an agent at once depends on the plan (the start form says how many).
Steps
- Open the workflow, choose "Panels" and then "Build with coding agents" (or "Build this feature with coding agents" after making the plan).
- Read the cards in building order: "Starts first", or "Waits for" another card, and each card's locked tests.
- Choose "Cards with an agent at once" and how long credentials last.
- Type your password once and press "Start building".
- Copy each card's credential and the kamocore mcp entry now - they are shown only this once.
Result: the build shows "Building" and "2 of 5 steps verified". Each step reads "Waiting", "Agent working", "Ready for review", "Merged, testing" or "Done". Choose "Timeline" above the steps to read the whole run in one line of time: when it started, when each card was given to its agent and done (and verified), and when it stopped or finished.
Good to know
- Your workspace may have only so many cards with an agent at once; the start form says how many.
- A credential acts for nothing until its card opens. When one ends first, the build says "Needs you: renew" and only the person who started it can renew.
- Ready for review is never Done: a person merges, then the card's tests must pass.
- "Stop building" ends waiting cards and their credentials at once. Tick "Also take back the cards that are with an agent now" to stop those too.
A credential is a key Treat each credential like a password. It is shown once and acts only for its card.
If something goes wrong
- "A card has no tests to judge its work. Add them, then the build goes on."
- "Set a preview address for the tests first."
- "Waiting for room: the workspace already has as many cards with an agent as it may." - it goes on when a card finishes.
- "A card failed its verification rounds. Look at its pull request on the board."
