See which steps are built and tested
Switch on Coverage to see, on every step, where its card stands and what its tests say - and find designs where something fails.
In short
Once a plan is made, each step of the workflow knows its card and its tests. "Coverage" paints that on the canvas: where the card is, and whether the tests prove the step works. The Designer list shows "7/12 verified" for each workflow, and so does the header of an open workflow - press it to show or hide the coverage map.
Before you start
- Who: anyone who can open the workflow. Records you cannot open are hidden from the words on a step.
- Plan: Designer is part of every plan, Free included. The Free plan limits how many designs a workspace keeps; Plan & usage shows the limit and what you hold.
- First: make the plan (see /help/designer/create-the-plan). Until then every step says "No card".
Steps
- Open the workflow, choose "Show" and then "Coverage" under "Colour by".
- Read the words on each step and the legend under the toolbar.
- Select a step to see its "Build and proof" line in the inspector, with "Open card" and the card's column.
- On the Designer home, open "More filters" ("Filters" on a phone) and find "Proof".
- Choose "All steps verified", "Something failing" or "Not verified yet".
What the words mean
Good to know
- Some linked records may be hidden from you. Then the step says "Some linked records are hidden from you, so this says only what you can see."
- A step whose built API answers differently from the design shows a drift word too. See /help/designer/design-drift.
- The list counts the 50 most recent workflows. An older one shows no count.
- Press "Download" in the legend for the coverage as Excel or PDF. Each requirement ID on a step is counted too. See /help/designer/requirement-ids.
If something goes wrong
- "Coverage cannot be shown right now." - try again in a moment; the coverage reads cards and tests from other modules.
- Every step says "No card": the plan has not been made yet. See /help/designer/create-the-plan.
