Open Help for the screen you are on

Hints on controls, the Help dock, the ? key and the keys worth knowing.

In short

There are no help icons to hunt for: rest on a control and a hint card says what it is for. "Help for this screen" (or the ? key) opens the Help dock with this screen's guide, every hint on it and a search. Words with a dotted underline explain themselves too.

Before you start

Read a hint

  1. Rest the pointer on a tab, a button or a title, or reach it with the keyboard. A card says what it is for.
  2. Press "Learn more" to open the Help dock at the part of the guide about this control.
  3. Or press Ask AI to hand the question to the assistant, when it is on for you.

Open the Help dock

  1. Open Help in the header and choose "Help for this screen", or press ?. On a phone, open Menu, then Help.
  2. Read the guide under "For this screen", or search guides, videos and hints at the top.
  3. Open a row under "On this screen" and press "Read the guide" or "Show me", which scrolls to the control and outlines it.
  4. Press "Browse all guides" to read any other guide without leaving the screen; the trail above it leads back to the list.
  5. Under "More for this screen", the guides you have not read yet come first; the ones you have read say Read. Once you have read the screen's own guide, the list opens by itself.
  6. Press "Open in the Help center" to read the guide as a full page, at the part you reached. Esc closes the dock.

Words with a dotted underline

A word with a dotted underline, such as Tier or p95, is a term the product cannot avoid. Rest on it, or reach it with the keyboard, to read what it means in one line. The Glossary lists every one of them, grouped by the part of the product that uses it, with a search and, for each word, the guides that explain it: open Help, choose "Help Center", then "Browse the glossary". A guide lists the words it uses at its end, under "Words in this guide".
