See everything related to a record
One panel lists everything that points at a card, a request, a suite, a monitor, a role, a candidate, a note or a plan item, each with its live state.
In short
Related is one panel that lists everything pointing at a record, each with its live state. The record can be a card, a request, a suite, a monitor, a role, a candidate, a note or a plan item. What needs you comes first.
Before you start
- Who: anyone signed in. Related lists only records you can open yourself.
- Plan: none.
- First: open a card, request, suite, monitor, role, candidate, note or plan item.
Open Related
- On a card, choose its "Related" tab.
- On a saved request, a suite, a role, a UI test or a note, press "Related" in the title row - it shows how many records point here. On a phone it is in the … menu.
- On a monitor, a candidate or a plan item, Related is at the end of its sheet.
- Select a row to open it.
What it shows
Connections map
- In Related, switch from "List" to "Map". The map draws the record in the middle and what connects to it around it, with a legend for each kind of record.
- Choose how far out to look - one, two or three steps.
- Select a record to centre the map on it. The breadcrumb above the map takes you back the way you came, and the link keeps the record you centred on.
- Press "Open" to go to the selected record.
- Keyboard: the arrow keys move between records, Enter centres on the selected one, O opens it, + and - zoom, and 0 fits the whole map.
- When a record has more connections than the map draws, it says it stopped at its limit.
- On a phone, Related shows the list instead of the map.
Good to know
- Each row says how it relates and how it is doing - failing, overdue, needs review, open, passing or done.
- Related starts with the platform's suggestions about that record, if any.
- It lists only records you can open yourself, in the workspace in the header, from modules that are on there. Anything else is left out entirely - not even its title appears.
