Search and jump with Ctrl+K
Find a record you can open, jump to any screen and open a record without leaving yours.
In short
Press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac) anywhere to find a record you can open, jump to any screen, or open a record without leaving yours. With nothing typed, it opens on where you were last.
Before you start
- Who: anyone signed in. Search covers only the workspace in the header and only modules that are on for you.
- Plan: none.
- First: nothing. Press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac) anywhere.
Search and jump
- Press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac), or click the search box in the header (the "Search" button on a phone).
- Type at least two letters of a name. Places, actions and matching records appear as you type.
- Move with the arrow keys and press Enter, or click a row. Esc closes search.
What it finds
See every result
- Type a name in search, then choose "See all results" at the end of the records.
- The search page shows each product with its five closest records. Choose "See all in" a product to see more of it.
- Use the Product, Kind and Workspace filters to narrow the list. Choose a record to open it.
When you search another workspace of yours, opening a record switches to that workspace first. Your last searches are kept on this device only, and Clear removes them.
Open a record without leaving
- A card opens in its board's card view; "Open the board" goes to it.
- A saved request shows what it calls and the answer it last got; Send runs it, and "Open in API Tester" edits it.
- A candidate opens in the pipeline's sheet; "Open in the pipeline" goes to their role.
- "Back to search results" returns with what you typed still there. Every other record opens on its own screen.
Good to know
- Results are grouped by module, closest match first, and each module shows its closest few - type more of the name to narrow them.
- Search covers only the workspace in the header and only modules that are on for you.
- Candidates are found only by the people who hire for their role, and never after their data was erased.
- Paste a cURL command, an address, an OpenAPI link or a HAR capture and search offers to turn it into a request or a project.
If something goes wrong
- A record is not found: it is in another workspace, its module is off for you, or you cannot open it.
- Too many results: type more of the name.
"Some records could not be searched" means one product did not answer in time. What you see may not be everything - search again in a moment.
