Follow your learning path
Pick a path for your role and work through a few guides and tasks at a time, from First steps to Power.
In short
Your path is a short, ordered list of guides and tasks for the kind of work you do. It starts with your first two minutes and moves on to the power features, a few items at a time, so you always know what to read or do next. Every guide is still in Help.
Before you start
- Who: anyone signed in. Your progress is yours alone.
- Plan: none. Finishing a path never turns anything on or off.
- First: nothing. The "Admin" level shows to site admins and on the Organization admin path.
Steps
- Open Help. "Your path" is the card at the top of the home page. Home shows the same path as a tile once Get started is finished.
- Open "Path" and pick yours: Developer, QA engineer, Team manager, Recruiter, Job seeker, Architect or analyst, or Organization admin.
- Work through the current level's items. Press "Do it with me" on a task, or "Read" on a guide.
- At the end of a guide, press "Mark as done". The button then reads "Done - undo". "Next on your path" leads to the next item.
Result: the card shows each level with how far you are, such as "Everyday" and "2 of 6", and "Next:" names what comes after. When a level is finished it says so, and the next one opens.
The levels
Good to know
- A path starts from your goal when you chose one in the welcome page; you can switch to another path whenever you like.
- Items are guides that exist in Help and guided tasks. A guided task ticks itself when you do it for real; a guide ticks only when you press "Mark as done".
- Your progress is yours: it is kept with your account and follows you between devices.
- Finishing a path never turns anything on or off. It only decides what Help suggests next.
If something goes wrong
- "Your path could not be loaded.": reload the page. The guides themselves are not affected.
- No "Admin" level: it shows to site admins and on the Organization admin path only.
