Build your profile and resume

Keep one professional profile and resume, fill it in from your resume with AI, and send it with every application.

In short

Your professional profile and resume live in Jobs & hiring › Find work › Profile, apart from any one application, so you fill them in once. Every application sends a copy. AI can fill the form in from your resume for you to check.

Before you start

• Who: anyone with an account. Your profile is yours alone until you apply or share a link.
• Plan: none for the profile. Your resume file counts toward your own storage, and "Auto-fill from resume" uses one processed document from your plan (see /help/settings/storage-limits).
• First: have your resume ready as a PDF, DOCX or plain-text file up to 10 MB.

Add your resume and the basics

1. Open Jobs & hiring › "Find work" › "Profile".
2. Press "Upload CV" and choose one PDF, DOCX or plain-text file, up to 10 MB.
3. Fill in the headline, summary, skills (type one and press Enter or a comma) and years of experience.
4. A bar slides up when something changed. Press "Save profile". Nothing is stored before that.

Fill it in from your resume

1. Upload your CV first.
2. Press "Auto-fill from CV". AI reads the file and suggests values.
3. Press "Use" on a group of suggestions or "Use all", and edit anything - or choose "Dismiss".
4. Press "Save profile".

Good to know

• A hiring team receives your headline, summary, skills, years of experience, location and resume. The rest is for your own record.
• Applying works at any completeness. Find roles shows how complete your profile is and what to add next.
• Replacing a resume changes future applications only. Each application keeps the resume you applied with.
• Auto-fill uses one processed document from your plan, and a little of the AI budget on the platform's AI. Without an AI provider the button says so, and you fill the fields in yourself.
• What happens next: nothing is stored until you press "Save". To erase everything, use "Your Jobs data" (see /help/jobs/privacy-and-retention).

If something goes wrong

• "Resumes must be a PDF, DOCX, or plain text file." or "Resumes must be under 10 MB.": choose another file. Your profile is unchanged.
• "Upload a resume first.": auto-fill needs a resume on your profile.
• "Your saved resume couldn't be found - try uploading it again."
