Plan the people you will hire
List the positions your organization means to fill, per team, link each role to the position it fills, and see planned, open and filled at a glance.
In short
A hiring plan lists the positions you mean to fill this year, per team: for example 2 Senior QA Engineers for Payments by March. Link the roles you post to the position they fill, and the plan counts planned, open and filled - totals only, never a candidate.
Before you start
- Who: people who manage hiring in an organization. The plan shows totals only, never a candidate.
- Plan: Jobs is part of every plan.
- First: switch to an organization, then post the roles you want to link to a position.
Steps
- Open Jobs › Hiring, choose "More" and then "Hiring plan".
- Press "Add a position". Fill in "Position", "How many", "Team" and "Filled by", and a "Note" if you like.
- Press "Save". Add the other positions the same way.
- Under "Which roles fill which position", choose the position each draft or open role fills.
Result: "The plan in numbers" shows Planned, Open, Filled and To fill, and each position shows its own.
Good to know
- A hiring plan is for an organization. In your personal workspace, switch to an organization first.
- A role's opening and hires count on the position it is linked to.
- Removing a position leaves its roles as they are, unlinked.
- "Download" in the plan's … menu saves the plan as Excel or PDF.
- "By team" adds the plan up per team: what is still to fill, how many are planned, open and filled, and the soonest date one is due. "Show its positions" narrows the numbers and the list to that team; "Show every team" shows them all again.
If something goes wrong
- "A hiring plan is for an organization" - switch to an organization to plan.
- "Plan from 1 to N people." - change "How many".
- "No draft or open roles yet." - post a role first. See /help/jobs/posting-and-hiring.
