Follow and withdraw an application
See where each application stands, read what the team has sent you, practise for the interview and withdraw if you change your mind.
In short
Applications shows where each application stands, your upcoming interviews and what the hiring team sent you. You can withdraw an application while it is in play.
Before you start
- Who: the candidate.
- Plan: none.
- First: apply to a role (see /help/jobs/browsing-and-applying).
Follow an application
- Open Jobs & hiring › "Find work" › "Applications".
- Pick a tab: Active, Interviewing, Offers or Closed. "Upcoming interviews" sits on top.
- Open an application to see its status, what you sent, the resume summary the team reads, and messages from the team.
Withdraw an application
- In Applications, open the application's … menu, or open the role.
- Choose "Withdraw application".
- Confirm. "Application withdrawn" confirms it.
Practise for the interview
- Open an application that is still in play and find "Practise for the interview".
- Choose "Suggest questions": likely questions for the role, from its description and your profile, in the language you applied in.
- Write an answer and choose "Save answer", or "Get feedback" for a short comment on it.
- Your questions, answers and feedback are yours alone. The hiring team never sees them.
- The AI is the job search's: its tokens count on your own plan, and the interview questions and practice feedback switches in your job search settings apply here too.
- Questions are made once per application. Your answers stay after the application ends, and leave with it when the application is erased.
Good to know
- You are told in the inbox when a status changes, an interview is scheduled, moved or canceled, a message arrives, or a new role matches an alert.
- A scheduled interview shows the role, the kind of interview, the time in your own time zone and the link or place. A confirmed address also gets an email with a calendar file. A change updates the event and a cancellation removes it.
- The team's notes, and who moved your application and why, are never shown to you.
- You can withdraw from Applied to Offer. While the role is open, "Re-open my application" puts a withdrawn application back where it was.
- The list is a table, and on a phone each application is a card. Opening one shows the role over the list, so closing it comes straight back.
If something goes wrong
- "This application is no longer in progress, so there is nothing to withdraw.": it was already decided.
- "This role is no longer open, so the application can't be re-opened."
- "The deadline for these questions has passed. Ask {organization} for more time.": reply to the team's email.
