Public job pages, sharing and reports
Every open role has a public page anyone can read; share a role, follow an organization, or report a role that breaks the rules.
In short
Every listed open role has a public page anyone can read, without an account, at /opportunities. You can share a role, follow an organization to hear about its new roles, and report a role that breaks the rules.
Before you start
- Who: anyone can read public role pages without an account. Following an organization and saving need an account; reporting needs a confirmed email address.
- Plan: public pages follow no plan. Whether a role is listed is the hiring team's choice (and the organization's policy).
- First: nothing for a reader. A hiring team chooses a role's visibility from its menu in the hiring pipeline.
Share a role
- On a role's page press "Share", or in the hiring pipeline press "Copy link".
- Paste the link. It previews with the role's title, who is hiring, where and for how much.
On a phone, Share opens the device's share sheet. An organization's page has its own Share button: one link to every role it lists.
Follow an organization
- Open the organization's page.
- Press the follow button, named "Follow Northwind Labs" for an organization called Northwind Labs. Each role it lists then reaches your inbox.
- Stop following from its page or from Saved roles.
- On a careers page that groups roles by team, choose a team and press "Follow" with the team's name, such as "Follow Platform at Northwind Labs". Only roles filed under that team reach you. Following a team and following the whole organization are separate: stopping one keeps the other.
- If the organization deletes the team, its follow ends; Saved roles no longer lists it.
Report a role
- On the role's page, in the panel beside the description, press "Report this role". If you are not signed in, sign in first; the report form opens when you are back.
- Under "What's wrong?" choose a reason, and add what the moderators should check under "Details". "Something else" needs your own words.
- Press "Send report". You hear back in your inbox once a moderator decides.
The control is not shown to the team that hires for the role, and it turns into "You reported this role" once you have sent a report. A job from the web in Job search is reported with "Report fake" instead (see /help/jobs/report-a-fake-job).
- Leave it up: the role stays as it is.
- Unlist: the role leaves the public board and search for good, but can still be shared by its link.
- Take down: the role closes and its public page ends.
Good to know
- Hiring teams choose a role's visibility from its menu in the hiring pipeline. An organization can keep all its roles off the public board under Policies; they are then shared by link only.
- A role someone posts in their own name is shared by link until they confirm their email.
- Following counts as one of your 20 job alerts.
- You need a confirmed email to report, you can report a role once, and the team that hires for it cannot report it or learn who did.
- If your own role is restricted, you are told why. Only the platform's moderators can lift it, and a taken-down role cannot be reopened.
- "Public page figures" in a published role's … menu shows how many times its public page was opened, how many applications came from public pages and the share that became one, for 30 or 90 days. A visitor counts once a day, and nothing about who opened the page is kept.
If something goes wrong
- "Your organization keeps its roles off the public board; share this role by its link."
- "Verify your email to list a role you post yourself; until then, share it by its link."
- "The platform's moderators took this role off the public board, so it can only be shared by its link."
