Report a fake job from the web
Tell a {{brand}} administrator about a job the job agent found that looks fake, so it can be hidden for everyone.
In short
Jobs the job agent brings from the web are marked "Not checked by {{brand}}". When one looks fake - it asks for a fee, pays in crypto or wants you to talk only on a messenger app - report it. A {{brand}} administrator checks it, and a confirmed fake is hidden for everyone.
Before you start
- Who: anyone signed in whose plan includes the job agent.
- Plan: Pro, Business or Enterprise.
- First: nothing. Only jobs from the web are reported here; for a role posted on {{brand}} see /help/jobs/public-job-pages#report.
Steps
- Open Jobs & hiring, choose "Job search", then "From the web" or "All".
- On the job's row, press "Report fake".
- Optionally write "What looks wrong", for example that it asks for a fee.
- Press "Report". "Thank you. An administrator will check it." confirms it, and the row then shows "Reported".
Result: the report waits for a {{brand}} administrator. If they confirm it is fake, the job leaves Job search for everyone, no letter goes to it, and the job agent never brings it again.
Good to know
- A job "Looks risky" when the fake check found a sign as it came in; the reasons show under its title. {{brand}} sends no letter to it, and you can still report it.
- You report a job once: "Reported" takes the button's place. The job stays in your list until an administrator decides.
- Site administrators answer reports in the Admin console under Job sources, in "Reported jobs": "Hide as fake" or "Not fake".
If something goes wrong
- No "Report fake" on a row: the role was posted on {{brand}} - use "Report this role" on its page - or you already reported it.
- No jobs from the web: your plan does not include the job agent, or it has not searched yet (see /help/jobs/job-search).
