Keep a talent pool and find verified talent
Keep candidates who said yes in mind for future roles, find people by skills a {{brand}} assessment verified, and invite either to an open role.
In short
Candidates lists everyone who applied to the roles you can see, across roles: filter by stage, role or source, move or reject several at once, and open a person as you would in the pipeline. Beside it, talent is an organization's two ways to find people beyond a role's applicants. The talent pool holds candidates who agreed, after applying, to be kept in mind. Verified talent lists people who chose to be found by skills a {{brand}} assessment verified. You invite either to an open role, and they decide whether to apply.
Before you start
- Who: people who manage hiring in an organization. Candidates answer from their own account or the link in the email.
- Plan: Jobs is part of every plan, Free included.
- First: switch to an organization. A personal workspace has no talent pool.
Ask a candidate to join the talent pool
- Open an applicant on one of your organization's roles.
- Choose "More" › "Ask to join the talent pool...".
- Choose "Keep them in mind for": 6, 12 or 24 months.
- Optionally add "Tags" - your team's words for finding them later, separated by commas.
- Press "Ask them". They get the question by email, or in their inbox if they have an account; the pool shows "Asked - waiting" until they answer.
Use the talent pool
- Open Jobs › Hiring › "Candidates" › "Talent pool".
- Search names, headlines and skills, or pick a "Tag".
- To invite someone who said yes, choose a role under "Invite to…" and press "Invite".
- Use a person's menu to "Edit tags" or "Remove from the pool".
Find verified talent
- Open Jobs › Hiring › "Candidates" › "Verified talent".
- Filter by "Skill", "Level", "Place" and "Way of working".
- Choose a role under "Invite to…" and press "Invite". "More people" shows the next page.
Answer a request, or be found (for candidates)
- To answer a talent pool request, open the email, or Jobs › "Find work" › "Applications" › "Talent pools" › "Answer".
- Press "Yes, keep me in mind" or "No, thanks". Later you can renew, or press "Leave the talent pool".
- To be found by your verified skills, open Jobs › "Find work" › "Profile" › "Verified skills" › "Be found by hiring teams".
- Give "The name teams see", choose "Skills to show" and press "Show me to hiring teams".
- Under "Hidden from", paste an organization's page address and press "Hide from them" - your current employer, for example.
Good to know
- Talent is for an organization and the people who manage its hiring. In a Personal Workspace the screen asks you to switch to one.
- Nothing beyond what asking needs is kept until the person says yes. Yes keeps their name, contact details, headline, skills and location, and your tags, until the date they agreed to. They never see your tags.
- A request nobody answers is forgotten after 30 days. Near the end, the person is asked once whether to stay; when the time ends, their place is erased.
- Removing someone, or their "No", erases their place, invitations and emails at once. A place someone agreed to stays when the team, or retention, erases the application itself.
- Being in the pool, or listed, never applies anyone to anything. An invitation is an email and an inbox note about one open role.
- Verified talent shows only what people chose: the name they go by, headline, place, ways of working and verified skills - never their account or email. Nobody is ranked or scored; the order is random.
- Only skills a passed {{brand}} assessment verified can be listed. A listing is off until its owner turns it on, and "Stop showing me" takes it down.
- Your organization invites a verified person once per role and at most once a week, and up to 50 people a day.
- In the talent pool, "Compare with a role" shows which of the role's skills each person listed too, as written. Turn on "Only people who share a skill" to keep just them. Nobody is ranked or scored, and the order stays the same.
- In verified talent, "Tell me about new people" saves the filters you chose - up to 10 searches. Your inbox then says how many new people match, never who, and opens the search with its filters. Delete one under "Your saved searches"; people who hid from your organization are never counted.
If something goes wrong
- "This person is already in the talent pool, or has been asked."
- "This candidate has no address to ask." - they have neither an account nor an email address.
- "This person was already invited to that role." / "This person is already a candidate for that role."
- "Your organization invited this person in the last week - give them time to answer." / "Your organization has sent 50 invitations today - send more tomorrow."
- "Open a role to invite people to it." - nothing is open yet; publish a role first.
