Change organization settings

Where the settings are, the profile and logo, the address of your public pages, working defaults and how new things start.

In short

An organization's Settings hold its profile and logo, the address of its public pages, its working defaults and who new things start open to. The other sections set joining, modules, AI, policies, single sign-on, security and data, file storage, data location and ownership. People with Change organization settings see them.

Before you start

Steps

  1. Make the organization your workspace, open it and choose "Settings". The page lists its sections at the side, in four groups: Profile, Products & AI, Security & data and Ownership (chips on a narrow screen). Settings › "Organization settings" lists the same sections for you.
  2. On "General", change the name, description, website and hiring defaults.
  3. Each change saves itself a moment later; the line above the fields says Saved. An empty name is not saved until you fill it in.
  1. Under "Address", choose "Change address" and type readable words, 3 to 80 characters.
  2. Read whether it is free and "What moves".
  3. Choose "Change address".

Result: the changes apply at once; a new address takes over your careers page and role pages.

General: logo and profile

"Upload logo" takes a PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF up to 1 MB, which counts toward your storage. Replace it any time, or "Remove logo" to fall back to the initial. "Use an image address instead of an upload" sets a logo address, used only when nothing is uploaded.

General: working defaults

Working defaults are what a person and a new thing start with: the time zone, the day the week starts on, and the working days. A new calendar starts in that zone, reports count weeks from that day, and interviews are offered on those days. A person's own choice in their settings always wins. Changing them rewrites nothing that exists.

General: how new things start

"How new things start" says who a new board, project or notebook is open to where no team above it chose. As the product starts them: open to its team when filed under one. When filed under none, they are open to everyone, or, for a SQL project, a cache connection, a notebook or a design, only to its maker. A team's own default and the maker's choice come first.
