Work by team in Boards, API Tester and Analytics
Pick a team to see only what lives under it, and file new work in the right place.
In short
Inside an organization, the Boards and API Tester sidebars start with the team tree. Picking a team shows only what lives under it, and new work is filed there. The team you pick follows you between modules.
Before you start
- Who: any member of the organization. You see only what you can open. Moving a project needs Manage on it.
- Plan: Organizations is part of every plan, Free included. Your plan sets how many members and teams an organization may hold (Plan & usage shows them).
- First: teams must exist (see /help/organizations/teams-and-hierarchy).
Steps
- In Boards or API Tester, pick a team in the team tree in the sidebar. The counts beside each team show how much lives there.
- To include the teams below it, tick "Show all levels" (in Boards, "Include subteams" in the … menu).
- Create new work: "New board" or "New project" files it under the place you picked.
- To move a project, drag it onto another team or the organization, or use "Move to a different team". Change a board's team from its Share dialog or its settings.
Result: you see only that team's work, and new work lands in the right place.
Good to know
- The tree works like folders: every board and project lives in exactly one place, under one team or in the organization itself.
- Analytics and the other testers offer the same team as a filter.
- You see only what you can open.
Filing can change who opens it A thing open to its team - the Team, Team and below or Read-only for others choice - is open to the team it is filed under. Filing it under another team opens it to that team's people and closes it to the old team's. A private thing, or one open to everyone, keeps its audience wherever it is filed.
If something goes wrong
- A board is missing under a team: it is filed under another team or the organization itself, or it is not open to you. Pick the organization and tick "Show all levels".
- You cannot move a project: you need Manage on it.
