Add an item with one line of text
Type a day, time, length or priority and Quick add reads it.
In short
Type one line, such as "next monday standup 10:00 for 1h", and the capture line reads the day, time, length and priority from it. Chips under it show what it understood.
Before you start
- Who: anyone with Planner on.
- Plan: Planner is part of every plan, Free included. Your plan caps the open items, calendars and cycles a workspace holds (Plan & usage shows them).
- First: nothing. Press C to reach the capture line.
Steps
- Press C to reach the "Quick add" capture line above "Today", "Week" or "Month".
- Type the item with any day, time, length or priority words.
- Check the chips under the line.
- Press Enter to add it, or Shift+Enter to open the full sheet with the line already read.
What the line understands
Good to know
- An event with no time starts at 09:00 and lasts an hour unless you give a length.
- A line with no date lands on the day you are looking at.
- Words it cannot read stay in the title. Tags written with # are recognized but not saved.
If something goes wrong
- "That line has no title left once its date and time are read.": add a few words about what it is.
- "Type something to add."
- A date was read wrongly: press Shift+Enter and fix it in the sheet.
