Get reminders and a daily digest
Where Planner reminds you, when, and how to snooze or turn it off.
In short
Planner reminds you in your inbox: about cards due today, about dated entries shortly before their time, and at each item's own reminders. You can also get one daily digest line about your day.
Before you start
- Who: anyone with Planner on. A reminder reaches the item's owner and everyone on it.
- Plan: Planner is part of every plan. Every reminder arrives in your inbox; Planner sends no email.
- First: check Settings › Notifications: Planner must not be Muted.
Set an item's reminders
- Open the item's sheet and "More options".
- Under Reminders, add one or more - from At the time to 1 day before.
- It saves as you change it. Each reminder reaches the item's owner and everyone on it, once per occurrence.
Turn on the daily digest
- Open Planner settings from the title row's … menu. It opens on "Your day", with "Preferences" first.
- Turn on "Daily digest in my inbox" and choose a "Digest time".
- Once a day at that time your inbox gets how many items are due and how many are overdue, or that your day is clear.
Good to know
- Cards assigned to you with a due date get a Due today reminder that morning at your digest time (08:00 unless you change it). A card already in a done column is not reminded.
- Other dated entries get a Due soon reminder shortly before their time, as far ahead as your default reminder.
- This is on for everyone, including people who never opened Planner. To stop both, turn off "Remind me about due cards" in Planner settings › Your day.
- Every reminder arrives in your inbox; Planner sends no email.
- Snoozing your own task or reminder hides it and reminds you again at the new time. Snoozing a record from another module never changes its date.
- Planner follows your device's time zone. To keep one zone wherever you are, pick it under Time zone; choose Automatic to follow your device again.
If something goes wrong
- No reminders arrive: check Settings › Notifications - Planner may be Muted. With Planner on Digest, due-card reminders stop but the daily digest still comes.
- A reminder comes at the wrong hour: check the time zone in Planner settings.
- "An item can have at most … reminders."
