Give an entry a time
Use the day's hours to schedule, move, snooze or add an entry to a cycle.
In short
The day's hours show events and focus blocks at their times, with free stretches you can fill. Drag an entry onto the hours to give it a time, and drag a block to move it. Or use a row's … menu to schedule, snooze or add it to a cycle.
Before you start
- Who: changing your own items needs nothing. Changing a record of another module (a card's dates, an interview) needs the right to change it there.
- Plan: Planner is part of every plan, Free included. Your plan caps the open items, calendars and cycles a workspace holds (Plan & usage shows them).
- First: nothing.
Give an entry a time
- Drag a row from the lanes onto the hours or the "All day" strip.
- Or press a dashed free stretch, or click empty time, to add an event there or put a waiting entry into that time.
- To move a block, drag it; it snaps to 15 minutes. Drag its bottom edge to change its end.
- With a block focused, Alt+Up and Alt+Down move it by 15 minutes; Alt+Shift+Up and Alt+Shift+Down move its end.
Use a row's … menu
Good to know
- The hours run between the calendar hours set in Planner settings (09:00 to 18:00 unless you change them), widened to fit anything outside them. Today has a red Now line.
- All-day items and items with only a due time sit in the All day strip. Free stretches of half an hour or more show as dashed buttons.
- Below 768 pixels wide, a List or Schedule switch shows either the lanes or the hours.
Moving an entry moves the record Dragging a card changes the card's own dates in Boards, and dragging an interview reschedules the interview. Planner keeps no copy.
If something goes wrong
- An entry cannot be dragged: its module will not let you move it. Use its … menu, "Schedule…", to set time aside for it instead.
- "Snooze to a moment in the future.": pick a later time.
- "You can see this item but not change it. Ask someone who manages its calendar for Edit."
