Ask for time off and approve it
Add time off, whole or half days; in an organization it goes to your team lead or a Planner manager, who approves or declines it.
In short
Time off you add in your own workspace counts at once. In an organization it is a request: your team leads and the organization's Planner managers are told, and it counts in cycle capacity, free times and who's out only once one of them approves it.
Before you start
- Who: anyone can ask. Team leads decide for the people of the teams they lead; a Planner manager decides for everyone in the organization. Nobody decides their own.
- Plan: every plan, Free included.
- When nobody can approve - you are the only Planner manager and lead nobody - your time off is approved as you add it.
Ask for time off
- Open "Planner", open settings and choose "Time off".
- Choose the first and last day and the kind. For one day, choose "Whole day", "Morning only" or "Afternoon only"; for longer, switch on "Start at midday on the first day" or "End at midday on the last day" if you need to.
- Choose "Add time off". In an organization the row says "Waiting for approval" until someone decides it; a declined row shows the note they left.
Approve or decline
- Open the notice in your inbox, or Planner settings, "Time off".
- Under "Time off to decide", read who asks, for which days and why.
- Write a note if you like, then choose "Approve" or "Decline". The person is told at once.
- To turn a decision around, open "Decided lately" and choose "Approve instead" or "Decline instead".
If something goes wrong
- "Someone decided this meanwhile": another approver was quicker. The list shows what stands now.
- No "Time off to decide": you lead no team and are not a Planner manager, or you are in your own workspace.
- Removed time off by mistake: choose Undo in the message; it comes back as it was, approval included.
