Mark the version that fixed a failure
See the kinds of failure private installations reported, and tell them which version fixes each.
In short
Failure kinds counts the crashes that private installations chose to report, one row per kind of failure. Give a kind the version that fixed it, and the next installation that reports it is told.
Before you start
- Who: only a site admin. The Admin console is in the avatar menu of a site admin and nowhere else.
- Plan: none. Failure kinds is on the hosted service only; a private installation has Failure reports instead.
- First: nothing. A row appears once a private installation sends a report.
Steps
- Open "Admin console" › "Failure kinds", under Operations.
- Read each row: the failure and its route, "Reports", "Last seen" and "Latest version reporting it".
- Type the version in its "Fixed in" box, such as 1.4.2, and press "Save".
Result: the next installation that reports this kind shows "Fixed in" with your version on its report.
Good to know
- To clear a version, empty "Fixed in" and press "Save".
- Hover a failure to see its fingerprint; a wide screen also shows it as a column.
- "Download" gives the table as Excel or PDF.
If something goes wrong
- "Enter the version it was fixed in, such as 1.4.2.": write the version number alone.
- "No failure kinds yet": no private installation has reported a crash.
