Change an organization's plan and limits

Move an organization to another plan and raise a limit for it alone.

In short

Organizations lists every organization with its members, plan and age. A site admin moves one to another plan or raises one limit for it alone.

Before you start

• Who: only a site admin. The Admin console is in the avatar menu of a site admin and nowhere else.
• Plan: only active plans can be assigned.
• First: add an override only to a limit the plan already sets.

Change an organization's plan

1. Open "Admin console" › "Organizations".
2. Find the organization. Archived ones are marked.
3. Choose a new plan from its dropdown. It applies at once, with "Undo".

Raise one limit for it

1. Press "Open" on the organization's row. Its effective limits show, per limit: the plan's value, any temporary limit and override, what applies and what it holds.
2. Press "Add override": the limit, the new value and "Why" - "Kept from before a plan change", "Promotional limit" or "Set by support".
3. Optionally set "Starts", "Ends" and a note, and press "Save override". The most generous value active now applies.

Good to know

• An organization's standing can be frozen from support. Its members can still read its work, but nothing in it can change, nobody new can join and its running work stops. This lasts until it is unfrozen or an appeal succeeds.
• Support can also raise how many emails a day an organization may send to people outside it.

If something goes wrong

• "No plan limits {metric}, so there is nothing to override.": set the limit on the plan first.
• "Choose an active plan.": only active plans can be assigned.
