Change how {{brand}} looks and behaves

Pick a theme, accent and density, and switch help hints, motion and single-key shortcuts.

In short

Settings › Appearance & language sets how {{brand}} looks and behaves for you: the theme, the accent color, the density, and whether help hints, motion and single-key shortcuts are on. Every change applies at once; there is nothing to save.

Before you start

• Who: anyone, signed in or not. Signed in, your choices are saved to your account.
• Plan: none.
• First: nothing. There is nothing to save.

Steps

1. Open Settings › "Appearance & language".
2. Under "Theme", click Light, Dark, High contrast or System.
3. Under "Accent", click a color swatch.
4. Under "Density", click Comfortable or Compact.
5. Under "Interface", turn "Help hints", "Motion" or "Single-key shortcuts" on or off. The product changes at once.

What each choice does

Good to know

• Signed in, your choices are saved to your account, so every device follows. Signed out, the defaults show.
• "Single-key shortcuts" is remembered on this device only.
• The avatar menu also has a "Theme" submenu.

If something goes wrong

• Another device still shows the old theme: refresh it. Choices made while signed out are not saved.
• Nothing moves even with Motion on: your system asks for reduced motion, and {{brand}} follows it.
