Connect Trello

Connect Trello with your API key and a token, so a board keeps its cards in step with a Trello board both ways.

In short

Connect Trello once for the whole organization. Each board then keeps its cards in step with one Trello board: lists are columns, and names, descriptions and labels move both ways. A one-time import still works without it.

Before you start

  1. Press "Open the token page". On Trello's Power-Up admin page choose your Power-Up, then API key.
  2. Copy the API key into "API key". Press Token beside it, allow read and write, and paste the token into "Token".
  3. Paste the address of one board into "A project to check with", such as https://trello.com/b/AbCd1234/payments.
  4. Press "Check this step": it signs in, reads the board's lists, and refuses a token that cannot write or an observer.

Webhook

  1. Copy the Secret shown beside your API key on the same Power-Up page - Trello signs every delivery with it.
  2. Paste it into "Signing secret" and press "Keep the secret". It is sealed and never shown again.
  3. {{brand}} registers the webhook on the board you checked with; every board that syncs registers its own when it starts.
  4. Change a card on that board to send a first delivery.

Check and use

  1. Press "Run the full check". Every step should say Passed; a step that failed names what to change.
  2. Under "Where will you use it?" tick Boards.
  3. Optional: under "Only these teams" tick the teams that may pick it. Leave it empty for everyone who may use those modules.
  4. Check the "Name" and press "Finish". The connection shows under "Connections" with its health.
