Read your limits and usage
Every limit by plan, how each kind counts and when it resets.
In short
Every plan has limits: how much you can do per hour, day or month, and how much a workspace can hold. Settings › Plan & usage shows each limit, how much is used and when it resets.
Before you start
- Who: anyone sees the limits of the workspace they are in; an organization's limits are the organization's.
- Plan: every plan has limits; this guide lists them. Plan & usage always shows the values that apply to you.
- First: switch to the workspace you want to check.
Steps
- Open Settings › "Plan & usage" in the workspace you want to check.
- Open the "Usage and limits" tab.
- Read each row: the limit with a line saying what it counts, how much is used, a bar and when it resets. "Nearly used up" shows at 80% and "Limit reached" at 100%.
The limits
AI limits
Every new answer and every other AI job on the platform key spends from the budget. Plan & usage shows it in dollars, with about how many answers it still buys.
Good to know
- Per hour, per day, per month: counts what you did and resets at the time shown, in your local time. The windows are UTC calendar hours, days and months.
- Held (boards, projects, members, storage): counts what the workspace holds now. Archive or delete something to free a slot.
- Per file: bounds each file on its own. "None" means no ceiling; "Not in plan" means 0.
- You get one heads-up notice at 80%. Deleting a file frees its storage at once.
- Documents processed counts each stored file read into text.
- Enterprise's values are where an organization starts; its contract raises them.
- A limit that resets says when it runs out if use keeps its pace so far - once a little of the period has passed. "Earlier use" under it shows the last months, days or hours.
- For a limit the members share, the people who manage the organization's settings or billing also see under "Earlier use" who used most of it this period. Service accounts show as one line.
- In an organization, if you do not manage its plan, a limit near or at its end offers "Ask an admin to raise this". The people who manage the plan are told in their inbox, once per limit and period.
If something goes wrong
- A number differs from this table: a promotion, a grace period or a limit set by support may raise it for your workspace. Plan & usage always shows what applies to you.
- An organization's Business plan does not raise your personal limits: switch to the organization to work under its plan.
