What happens at a limit or on a smaller plan
What stays open, what waits, and how temporary raises and grace periods end.
In short
At a limit, only the action that hit it stops, with a sentence that names the limit and when more is available. A smaller plan never takes away what you made: you can still open, export and delete it, and only adding more waits.
Before you start
- Who: anyone who reaches a limit. Changing the plan needs "Manage billing" in an organization.
- Plan: a smaller plan never takes away what you made.
- First: read the message: it names the limit and when it resets.
What to do at a limit
- Read the message: it names the limit and when it resets.
- For an hourly, daily or monthly limit, wait for the reset time it names.
- For a held limit (boards, projects, storage), archive or delete something to free a slot.
- Or move to a plan with more. Where payments are set up, the message may add "Available on" and the name of a plan, with "Compare plans".
When your plan gives you less
Promotions, grace periods and kept limits
Good to know
- When two people take the last slot at once, one gets it.
- If a raise ends while you hold more than the limit after it, you get an inbox message 14 and 3 days before. When it ends everything stays; only adding more waits.
- Plan limit emails can be turned off in Settings › Notifications › Emails. The inbox notice always arrives.
If something goes wrong
- "Your current plan does not include this feature.": the screen's module or feature is not in this workspace's plan. See Settings › Plan & usage › Features.
- Scheduled work shows "Waiting on your plan": it runs again once the plan includes it.
- You are in the wrong workspace: limits belong to the workspace you have active. Switch workspace and try again.
