Submit your week as a timesheet
Hand your week to a manager, see whether it was approved or returned, and know what a locked week means.
In short
In an organization whose plan includes Team time and timesheets, your week is also a timesheet. Submit it, and a manager approves it (which locks the week) or returns it with a note. Time in your personal workspace is never part of it.
Before you start
- Who: any member who tracks time in an organization whose plan includes Team time and timesheets. A manager decides.
- Plan: Team time and timesheets are part of the Business and Enterprise plans. Time in your Personal Workspace is never part of a timesheet.
- First: stop any timer that runs in the week before you submit.
Submit a week
- Open "Time tracker", choose "Week" and go to the week you want to hand in.
- Check the days and the rows. If your timer still runs in that week, press "Stop timer".
- Press "Submit week". The line above the days now says Submitted.
- Changed your mind before anyone decided? Press "Take back".
- If it is returned, read the manager's note on the Week view, correct the time and press "Submit again".
Good to know
- A timesheet is the time you tracked in that organization on the seven days from the first day of your week.
- You get a notice in your inbox when the week is approved or returned.
- A submitted week is locked while it waits, like an approved one. If someone took it back and submitted it again, a manager looking at the older version is asked to look again before deciding.
- An approved week cannot change. You cannot add, change or delete time in it, change its tags, or run a timer on one of its days. This holds in the Time tracker, on a card, on a record screen and in Focus mode.
- To correct an approved week, ask a manager to return it. Returning unlocks the week.
- History, under the status line, lists who submitted, took back, approved or returned the week, when, and how much time it held then. It cannot be edited.
- At the start of a new week you get one reminder in your inbox when last week holds time but is not submitted, with how many working days in it hold no time. Muting the Time tracker stops it.
If something goes wrong
- "Timesheets belong to an organization. Switch to one to submit a week."
- "Team time and timesheets are not part of this organization's plan."
- "Part of that week is already in a timesheet you submitted."
- A week cannot be approved: a timer is still running in it. Stop the timer.
