Organizations
Create an organization, invite people with a role and a team, arrange teams into a hierarchy, choose which modules the organization and each team use, and switch your workspace to work on what the organization owns.
- Create an organization - Start an organization, shape its first teams and find your way around its tabs.
- Invite people - Invite by account, by email or in bulk, with the role and team they receive.
- Accept an invitation or join an organization - Answer an invitation, join by email domain and take your first step.
- Find members, pause, hand over and leave - See who is in the organization, change many people at once, pause someone's access, hand over their work, or leave yourself.
- See who reports to whom - Set each member's manager, read the org chart, and open a person or a team to see everything connected to them.
- Use a team's dashboard and bring a team back - See a team's figures on its page, put people in teams at once, and bring back a team deleted by mistake.
- Overview, departments, invites from a file and activity search - See what needs you on the Overview, make a team someone's department, invite many people from a CSV file with each one's role, team and profile, select every matching member at once, keep filters as a view, and search the activity log.
- Give a role for a while and review access - Make someone an administrator for two weeks, and check now and then that every member still needs the role they hold.
- Read the people directory from a script - Keep another system in step with your organization: read its members, their managers and departments, and its teams.
- Create teams and arrange them - Make teams from a template, nest them, name a lead and a deputy, decide who can join and how the team's new things start.
- Choose a role for a person - What Organization Admin, Manager, Member and Viewer can do, which permissions are dangerous, and what only the owner can do.
- Share something and choose who can open it - One way to share in every module: who a board, project, notebook or design is open to, the five levels, and the Share dialog.
- See who reaches what in the Access tab - Your own access and why, the organization's overview with View as, requests, ways in from outside and tokens - all in one tab.
- Look up what a permission lets a person do - Every permission an organization role can hold, in words.
- Create a custom role - Make a role with exactly the permissions a job needs, then edit or delete it.
- Switch between workspaces - Choose your Personal Workspace or an organization and see what changes.
- See what an organization owns - Which items belong to the organization or to you, and why you cannot move them.
- Work by team in Boards, API Tester and Analytics - Pick a team to see only what lives under it, and file new work in the right place.
- Change organization settings - Where the settings are, the profile and logo, the address of your public pages, working defaults and how new things start.
- Keep your organization's files in your own storage - Connect your own S3-compatible or Azure Blob storage, so the organization's files are kept there, and move earlier files in - or back out.
- Keep your organization's data in your own database - Put forward your own PostgreSQL database; once a site administrator approves it, the organization's records live on your server.
- Accept the data processing agreement and get the security report - Under Security and data, the owner accepts the data processing agreement and anyone who manages settings downloads a Word report for an auditor; the public Trust page answers the rest.
- Set how people join - Default role and team, allowed email domains, join links and the policies that limit them.
- Set the organization's policies - Who may post vacancies, whether roles are public, two-step sign-in, the Made with line and who decides timesheets.
- Show or hide the Made with line on public pages - Pages you share with the public end with one quiet line, "Made with {{brand}}". Organizations on Business and Enterprise can leave it out.
- Set up single sign-on - Prove your company's email domain, connect your identity provider and, when you are ready, require it of everyone at that domain.
- Choose the modules an organization uses - Turn modules on or off for the whole organization, then make exceptions for one team.
- Transfer, archive, delete or export an organization - Hand ownership over, name who takes over if you cannot, freeze an organization, delete it and bring it back within 30 days, or export everything.
- Read the activity log - See who changed what in the organization - its people and teams, and every change across its modules - and export it.
